Externships & Internships
DESERT PINES EQUINE MEDICAL AND SURGICAL CENTER
Las Vegas, Nevada
Let us share our knowledge and passion for the horse with you by completing an externship at DPE. Under direct supervision, veterinary students will be able to observe and interact during case diagnosis both in the clinic and during ambulatory services.
The internship opportunities at Desert Pines Equine have been designed to provide the hands-on learning experience and knowledge-base growth needed by first year veterinarians to become skilled general practitioners or advance into residency programs.

STEINBECK PENINSULA EQUINE CLINICS
Salinas & Menlo Park, CA
Our externship program gives students exposure to a balance of medical, surgical and ambulatory practice. Our externs generally rotate through each area of the practice, however students may request an emphasis on one particular area.
The goal of our internship program is to produce well-rounded equine veterinarians. Our internship allows new doctors to gain valuable experience and mentorship in a collaborative team atmosphere.
We accommodate a limited number of resident veterinarians on a very select basis. We have graduated ABVP (American Board of Veterinary Practitioners), ACVIM (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine), and ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeons) residents.
We offer a limited number of externship opportunities to those currently enrolled in accredited veterinary technician programs. To be eligible, students must have liability insurance provided through their college, previous horse handling experience, and be available for a working interview.
